In its six-month test, the ADAC once again chose its winners from 20 child seats. Et voilà... may we present the Cybex Solution G i-Fix and the Britax Dualfix M Plus, the new ADAC test winners. Both child seats were able to achieve top marks in their categories. While the Britax Römer Dualfix M Plus was able to achieve an overall mark of 2.4 points in the class for small child seats, the Cybex Solution G i-Fix achieved an impressive overall mark of 1.7.
With such good results, we are happy to take a closer look at the test winners and weave our way through the test jungle for you to introduce you to the Solution G i-Fix from Cybex and the Britax Dualfix M in more detail.
The test
Before we get started and go into more detail about child seats, we would like to introduce you to the ADAC test. As mentioned at the beginning, the ADAC tested 20 child seats. These include infant carriers and child seats in different size classes. Safety, operation, ergonomics and pollutant content were tested. The most important part of the test is the crash test, in which a side impact and a front impact are carried out. The overall grade of the test result is then calculated from all four test categories.
In the final test result, 11 child seats were rated "good", while eight seats received a "satisfactory". A result that is quite impressive. Only the Besafe iZi Twist is not recommended to buy. The child seat was rated "inadequate" because its cover material is contaminated with nephtalin, which is suspected of being carcinogenic.
The toddler seat Britax Römer Dualfix M Plus
With a grade of 2.4 in the approval size for child seats from 61 to 105 cm, the Dualfix M Plus from Britax Römer emerged from the ADAC test categories.
In the pollutant category, the seat even scored a 1.0. One might think that Britax has booked a place in the ranking of test winners in the ADAC child seat test. In addition to the Dualfix M Plus, the Britax Römer Kidfix i-Size with a grade of 1.8 is also on this year's winner's ladder. If you look at the test results from recent years, the Britax Römer models have always been among the best. In May last year, for example, the Britax Römer Kidfix M i-Size achieved good test results in the safety category.
Reliable security
You can use the Britax Römer Dualfix M Plus both backwards and forwards. As it is known that rear-facing is the safest method of travel, your little fellow passenger can enjoy the rear-facing ride up to a height of 105 cm. To ride forward, your Mini should be at least 30 inches tall (around 15 months). The seat is only installed using ISOFIX connectors. The color indicator is also helpful here, showing you when the seat is installed correctly. The ISOFIX anchorage also prevents the seat from tipping over when cornering.
Thanks to the deep side walls of the Dualfix M Plus, your darling sits in a protective cocoon. The side bolsters also reduce the forces that occur in the event of an accident. So your sweetheart's head is better protected. In addition, the 5-point belt system distributes the forces acting in the event of an impact and mitigates them.
Flexible comfort meets user-friendliness
The real highlight of the child seat is the 360° rotation system. It makes the car seat incredibly flexible, because thanks to the rotation you can quickly and easily move the seat from a rear-facing to a forward-facing position. In addition, the 360° rotation makes it easier for you to put your sweetheart in and out of the child seat.
With the multi-adjustable resting position, your little driver can enjoy the ride to the fullest. Straps and headrest are also adjustable and grow with your Mini. Also, practical - you only need one hand to adjust the straps and headrest, so you always have the other hand free for your little Mini. Of course, the straps as well as the headrest and the seat are softly padded so that your sweetheart is always comfortable on the go.
The Cybex Solution G i-Fix
The Cybex Solution G i-Fix scored "good" in all test categories. In the pollutant category, the child seat did the same as the Dualfix M Plus and also achieved a grade of 1.0. Overall, the seat achieved a top mark of 1.7 in the approved size for child seats of 100-150 cm. With its approved size, which roughly corresponds to a period of 3 to 12 years, the child seat must adapt in size and weight to the passenger without losing sight of safety and comfort. The Cybex Solution G i-Fix offers these features and gives your little passenger maximum safety and comfort.
Maximum security through the latest technology
The safety of your mini is guaranteed by the L.S.P. system guaranteed. A linear side impact protection that diverts up to 20% of the lateral forces that occur from your sweetheart in the event of an accident. In addition, the energy-absorbing shell also neutralizes the force of an impact. The patented, tilt-adjustable headrest keeps your little passenger's head where it belongs - in a safe position.
By installing it using an ISOFIX, the child seat sits securely and stably. If your car does not have an ISOFIX system, you can simply push the seat's locking arms inwards and secure the seat with your car's 3-point belt.
Maximum comfort
The Solution G i-Fix can be placed in a tilted position where even your 12-year-old darling can take a nap. The height-adjustable headrest grows with your little passenger and the flexible side wings promise comfort at any age. It should be briefly noted here that the seat is very wide due to its construction, which was designed for children up to the age of 12, and the space on the reversing seats can be tight.
For even more comfort, the Cybex Solution G i-Fix comes with a ventilation system that gives your passenger a pleasant climate when driving, even on hot days.
