The ECE group 1 includes children from 9 months to about 4 years old and for a weight of 9 kg to about 18 kg. The car seats of group 1 are attached either with the 3-point belt in the car or by using the Isofix connectors which must exist in the car. For this purpose the child seat will be firmly anchored with the Isofix connectors in the car.
The children in the child seat 9-18 kg can either be secured with a harness or with an impact cushion, which is secured with the 3-point belt of the car. If the child car seat of group 1 finally becomes too small and the kids grow out, a child seat of the group 2-3 (15-36 kg) follows.
